Frequently Asked Questions about Horse Drawn Carriages

We require a $100 reservation fee which will be deducted from your final bill.  Reservations are not confirmed until deposit has been paid and the contract has been signed.

Reservation fee is 100% refundable if cancelled 4 weeks prior to booking.  

3 weeks prior - 75%

2 weeks prior - 50%

We recommend booking as early as possible to ensure availability but we can sometimes accommodate last minute bookings.

We do not charge mileage for anything within 30 miles from our barn.  Anything over the 30 miles is $3/mile one way.

For private bookings, we arrive with a clean ready to decorate carriage one hour prior to booking time.  We will decorate the carriage with any decorations you provide us.  Please no balloons or noisemakers of any kind.

For private bookings, we go to your desired location.  

Our historical district carriage rides typically start and end behind the Lake Charles Event Center at the Geese Fountain off Bord du Lac dr, Lake Charles, LA.   We also offer pickup and drop-off services at certain hotels and attractions in the area. Please contact us directly for more information.

Unfortunately, our carriages are not wheelchair accessible at this time.

Our carriages typically take 25 minutes per mile.

We welcome you to pet our animals while assisted by the footman!  We ask that you do not feed the animals as it creates bad habits.  They are fed grain, hay and treats upon returning to the barn.

Yes, just like humans, we sweat to cool our bodies.

We will operate in a light drizzle or as long as there is no lightning.  The vis a vis carriage and the covered wagon have tops.  We do not cancel for chances of rain until the last minute.  We do reserve the right to cancel if conditions are unsafe for our equine and team.  During the hot summer months, we recommend booking in the evenings.

If we cancel, your reservation deposit will be fully refunded.

No fireworks, sparklers, etc, are permitted around the horses and carriage at any time. Fire, smoke, silly string, balloons, and sparklers never mix with the horse. Never tie cans to the back of the carriage as it may spook the horse and cause injury.
